When I got the call from Alicia at Happy Wish Company asking if I could go with them to Apple Hill and photograph their fall subscription items, I didn’t even hesitate: “Heck yes.” Apple Hill is east of Sacramento off of Hwy 50. I highly recommend going for a day-trip, so get out your plaid blankets, baskets, and boots, you won’t be sorry. Many orchards have shops where you can buy pie, fruit, nuts….so we definitely had pie, and fresh-pressed apple cider, and apple donuts, and caramel apples…we pretty much ate our way through this photo shoot. And the weather couldn’t have been lovelier in the little orchard we selected to photograph. Charming sights were found in every direction, from the Canada geese to the grass between the rows. Some of the trees had a wild feeling to them, some were young and small, others were old and gnarled with moss-covered branches, they reminded me of the apple trees in The Wizard of Oz. I could’ve stayed there for hours, but even apple orchards close for the day. And remember, the holidays are coming – I still have openings for family portraits. Happy Fall everyone!
